Sony Debuts New Design 3D Bravia LCD HDTVs

Sony officially busted out its slew of stylish 3D HDTVs today at CES. Sony introduced its 2010 BRAVIA LCD HDTV lineup featuring its first 3D HDTVs, a new and stylish Monolithic Design Concept, and LED backlighting. Sony says its new BRAVIA line is made up of 38 models ranging in screen sizes from 60 to 22-inches.
The Bravia XBR-LX900, including a built-in 3D transmitter and a pair of active-shutter 3D glasses. The XBR-HX900 and XBR-HX900 are “3D ready,” but don’t come with the transmitter or glasses.
Sony Bravia XBR-LX900 3D HDTV
The XBR-LX900 comprises four sets ranging in size from 40 inches to 60 inches, will be available this summer, and comes with built-in Wi-Fi to take advantage of Bravia Internet widgets. They also include the company’s 240Hz Motionflow refresh rate technology, and a clever face detention feature that will dim the TV’s backlight if no one is in the set’s viewing area. All the models also feature Sony’s new ambient sensor that automatically optimizes the TV’s color and brightness according to the room environment and lighting conditions.
The XBR-HX900 sets have a couple of image-enhancing technologies that the XBR-HX800 series lacks, but otherwise they all have local dimming of the LED backlights and 240Hz refresh rates like the XBR-LX900 TVs. They also lack built-in wireless connectivity. The XBR-HX900 only comes in 52-inch and 46-inch varieties, while the XBR-HX800 comes in 55-inch, 46-inch, and 40-inch flavors. Of course, no pricing info has been announced, which may be related to seeing how Sony’s competition prices its own new 3D HDTVs.
BRAVIA KDL-HX800 Series 3D Ready HDTV
These 3D ready HDTVs will also be available this summer. The BRAVIA KDL-HX800 series will be available in screen sizes including 55-inch class (54.6-inches measured diagonally) (KDL-55HX800), 46 (KDL-46HX800) and 40-inch (KDL-40HX800).
Sony also introduced several other new BRAVIA models with various features, prices and screen sizes including BRAVIA KDL-NX800 series, BRAVIA KDL-NX700 Series, BRAVIA KDL-EX700 Series, BRAVIA KDL-EX600 Series, BRAVIA KDL-EX500 Series and many more……….
In addition to showing off the 3-D TVs, Sony announced the company was the official sponsor of 3-D video for ESPN so when 3-D TVs actually ship, Sony will be providing the 3-D technology for sports events televised on the channel. Sony also said it was partnering with Discovery and IMAX to create a new 3-D channel.
Sony – Bloggie HD Pocket Camcorder

Dashing all hopes of Wired ever calling Sony cool again, the company announced a high-definition pocket camcorder dubbed the Bloggie.
“Yes, you heard me right — Bloggie,” said Brennan Mullin, Sony Electronics’ senior vice president of the personal imaging and audio business, to a snickering audience.
Sporting a pistol-grip design, the Bloggie shoots 1920-by-1080 MP4 video and 5-megapixel still photos.
